On the trail to greater learning...

Sun Oct 12, 2008, 2:25 PM
So, i've been blazing through different drawing tutorials here on DA... Some are amazing, some not so amazing, everything from anime to realistic, and inbetween. If i knew how to do the nifty linking thing to people's profiles, I'd link the tutorial pages of [link] , as well as [link] . Cataclysm-X has some jam up tutorials for realistic stuff, and somewhere on Olympic Dames' site she has a few photoshop tutorials hidden, for stuff like color prep etc, which are quite useful. I'm finding i'm actually better at the realistic stuff after working my way through Cataclysm-x's tutorials, and I'll post my first attempt picture soon.

A few random facts:

-I don't use pencil and paper. ever. Ever since i was little, I've had problems with fine motor skills, so i have the shakes. Even in my digital work you can see it sometimes.

-I use a Wacom Cintiq 12wx tablet for all my drawing and photoshopping.

-I've only been "drawing" seriously for about a month and a half now. In the past, i tried pencil and paper stuff, and it just frustrated me.

-I do all of my drawing in Photoshop CS2.

-All of my 3-d stuff is done in 3d Studio Max 2009 Design.

-Faces are easy. It's bodies and I that don't get along well. apparently I have issues with being able to draw the human anatomy very well.

I like constructive criticism. If you think my stuff sucks, Don't just say " it sucks" tell me WHY it sucks, and what I can do to make it better. DA for me isnt about showing off my work of awesomeness, It's about letting other artists Critique my work so I will get better. Drawing for me is a hobby, not a life. 3-d work, on the other hand, is my life. I own my own company and do pretty well with it. Eventually, I plan on putting a lot of my newer stuff up here, as almost all of my 3-d work that's here is from my first and second year of college.

Happy Artisticing!
